Banana Locking

![]() Diddy Kong can use his bananas to lock an opponent down. Banana locking works by taking advantage of the tripping that bananas automatically force after a hit. To take advantage of tripping and to lock the opponent down in a continuous trip sequence, simply hit them with another banana right after the trip animation. If you can get the timing down, banana locking becomes similar to chain grabbing, as you can literally chuck banana after banana, carrying the opponent across the stage. This can be especially effective on walk off edge stages, where you can banana lock the opponent all the way off the stage to score a KO. To perform this technique more effectively you’ll need to learn how to glide toss so you can continually follow up your banana throws and re-grab previously used bananas. Using the dash attack to pick up bananas in addition to N-tilts will also be crucial. |
