Glide Tossing

![]() Glide tossing can only be performed when holding an item such as Peach’s turnips or Diddy Kong’s bananas. To glide toss, first shield, then simultaneously press a direction on the control stick and the C-stick. The direction pressed on the control stick will cause your character to slide in that direction and the direction pressed on the C-stick will cause your character to throw the item in that direction. This technique can be used for spacing, retreating, and approaching. If performed fast enough, the shielding animation can be skipped and your character can go straight into the glide and toss animation. Items can be tossed with the A- and Z-buttons as well, but the direction of the toss is much more limited than when using the C-stick. There are four different effects that can be achieved when glide tossing with the C-stick: 1.) Control stick left + C-stick left: Character will move and throw left 2.) Control stick left + C-stick right: Character will move left but turn and throw right 3.) Control stick left + C-stick up: Character will move left and throw up 4.) Control stick left + C-stick down: Character will move left and throw down Left can be replaced with right and vice-versa. |
